University of Professional BUP Admission 2020-21
A Candidate can apply for admission in any number of faculties he/she is eligible for.
Admission test (written) of various faculties will be conducted at different date and time.
Application Processing fees are non-refundable.
Eligibility for Admission:
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS)
(1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination from any discipline/group.
(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.
(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of BSS (Hons) in 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA Disaster and Human 3. 75 in each of the examinations.
(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 7.75 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.75 in each of the examinations.
(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level Economics background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:
Grade: A*/A B C D
Point: 5.00 4.00 3.50 3.00
Note: Gradings lower than ‘D’ will not be considered for point calculation.
(6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in BSS (Hons) in Public minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating Administration scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation.
(7) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The marks distribution is as follows:
(a) General Knowledge – 30.
(b) English – 40.
(c) Bangla – 30
(8) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Economics Sociology must have mi.n.i mum ‘A-‘ (A Minus) grade in Economics /Accounting/Statistics/Higher Mathematics either in SSC/equivalent or HSC/equivalent examination. Candidates from ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level background must have minimum D grade in any of the above mentioned subjects.
(9) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Disaster & Human Security Management must be qualified from Science Group in SSC/equivalent examination. Candidates must have studied Higher Mathematics/Statistics in HSC/equivalent level and obtained minimum ‘A-‘ (A Minus) grade in the examination.
(10) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of English must have minimum ‘A-‘ (A Minus) grade in English both in SSC/equivalent examination and HSC/equivalent examination.
Faculty of Business Studies (FBS)
(1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent BBA in Accounting & examination from any discipline/group. Information Systems
(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.
(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA BBA in Finance & 3.75 in each of the examinations. Banking
(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.75 in each of the examinations.
(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively BBA-General having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

(6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in minimum 06 (six) subjects having not less than 30 points based on the rating scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation.
(7) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The BBA in Marketing mark distribution is as follows:
(a) Mathematics-35
(b) English-35
(c) General Knowledae-30
Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS)
(1) · A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination International from any discipline/group.
(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.
(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA -3. 75 in each of the examinations.
(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in BSS (Hons) in Mass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.75 in Communication & each of the examinations.
(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

(6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (18) must pass in minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation.
(7) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The marks distribution is as follows:
(a) English – 50
(b) General Knowledge – 30
(c) Banala – 20
Faculty of Science and Technology (FST)
(1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent and Communication examination from science discipline/group.
(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 9.25 in BSc (Hons) in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.50 in Environmental each of the examinations.
(3) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

Point 5.00 4.00 3.50 3.00

(4) Candidates from I nternationa I Baccalaureate (18) must pass in minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation.
(5) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. Students opting for ICE must have Mathematics and those who will opt for Environmental Science must have Biology in HSC as their compulsory/optional (4th subject) subject. Students opting for both ICE and Environmental Science must have both Mathematics and Biology in HSC level.
(6) The marks distribution is as follows:
(i) Mathematics – 25/ Biology – 25
(ii) Physics – 25
(iii) Chemistry – 25
(iv) English – 25

- Online Application Submission: 02 February 2021 to 16 February 2021 (Apply online through the “Admission” link of www.bup.edu.bd)
- Publication of the List of eligible candidates for Written Exam: 20 February 2021 on BUP Website www.bup.edu.bd
- Admit Cards can be downloaded and printed by the individual applicants from admission.bup.edu.bd from 20 February 2021 onwards.

Instructions on How to Apply
- Application processing fee is Taka 750.00 (Seven Hundred Fifty) only for each faculty
- Application processing fee must be deposited online through your preferred Card/Mobile Financial Services/Internet Banking. Service charge is applicable. Detailed Payment procedure is available at “How to Apply” link on the admission website admission.bup.edu.bd

Special Instructions
- Admission Test will be taken in MCQ System and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Syllabus for Admission Test can be found in BUP Website.
- Following mark distribution will be followed for the assessment of candidates: (1) Written Test=65%, (2) Viva-voce=10%, (3) HSC/Equivalent Result=15% and SSC/Equivalent Result=10% (Total=100%)
- Help Desk will remain open from 0830 hours to 1730 hours on each working day from 02 February 2021 to 15 March 2021 at the reception of the university. For any query, applicants may call at 09666790790 during this time
Admission cancellation and refund of admission fee will be executed as per following:
- Before the commencement of class: 90% of the total admission fee may be refunded .
- From 1-15 days after the commencement of class: 75% of the total admission fee may be refunded .
- From 16-30 days after commencement of class: 50% of the total admission fee may be refunded .
- Since 30 days after commencement of class: No amount of total admission fee may be refunded.

Ans: You have to apply again for your desired Faculty. Payment for Admission is not refundable.

Ans: Try another payment option or open a bKash account.
Q:My Grandfather was a Military officer. Can I apply for military quota? Ans: No, you cannot, only the children of military personnel can apply.
Q:I have completed my O’Level and A’Level from outside of Bangladesh, can I apply for admission?

Ans: You have to download Admit Card before exam. Admit Card will be available from the date mentioned in admission advertisement.
Q:What is ‘ward certificate’? From where Should I get the ward certificates as children of military personnel?
Ans: Ward certificate means children of freedom fighter, military personnel and tribal
Q:I have applied through online. But I have not received any reply yet. What to do? Ans: Check your application status by login to admission site. If you see GREEN COLOR TICK SIGN beside Final Submit text, that means your application submitted successfully. You don’t have to do anything else other than download Admit Card from the date mentioned in admission advertisement.
Q:What are the criteria for final selection?
Ans: Final merit list will be prepared based on written test, viva voce, result at SSC and HSC.
Q:Can I save the application (online) before I deposit the money.
Ans: Yes, you can save. Even after submission you can edit the form until the final submission.
Q:Should I bring all original documents in the exam hall? Ans: No. Only Admit Card is required.
Q:How can I get an admit card?
Ans: You can get your Admit Card by login in to admission site (admission.bup.edu.bd)
Q:when should we get the seat plan?
Ans: On 13 October, eligibility list and seat plan will be published.
